Workshop materials

For each of the six villages and the District of Kilosa we have prepared posters that provide insights in the research findings on (i) natural resources, (ii) governance and (iii) livelihoods. You can download all anonymized English posters using the buttons. Once the Swahili posters have been fully finalized (they are currently in the translation process), they will also be uploaded to the website.

Natural resources

The posters on natural resources provide a background for the villages about how their forest is doing. Once this background has been established we can introduce research findings on forest governance and livelihoods. This was not the main part of the research conducted in the villages. However, it was nevertheless possible to produce the posters, using data and research findings produced for the thesis.

Forest governance

The posters on forest governance provide an overview of our remote sensing findings. For each of the villages we highlighted those findings that we hope will shed more light on the outcome of their current forest governance systems. The results are put in context to those of other villages. Overall, we hope this information provides the villages with a means to further improve forest governance.

Livelihoods

The posters on livelihoods provide an overview of our most important survey findings. We selected those findings that are most striking and will most likely foster interesting discussions amongst the villagers. The results are put in context to those of other villages. Overall, we hope this information provides the villages with a means to further improve forest governance.
